DEL RIO LANDFILL

Ecosystem rehabilitation and landfill development.

Located in south Phoenix the Del Rio is an underutilized landfill covering approximately 100 acres.
 

This master plan re-imagines the landfill as an academic campus for the local community, and a commercial and business district.

Special care was given to processes needed to rehabilitate the wildlife ecosystems and biodiversity of the Rio Salado River which borders the northern edge of the site.
